Dr. Art Hister, MD
Dr. Art Hister is an award-winning physician, educator and media personality. A recipient of the Holobon Award from the Canadian Public Health Association as Canada's top public health educator, he was the first full-time doctor at the Pine Free Clinic, Canada's first-ever clinic created exclusively for homeless and street youth.
He practiced family medicine at his private practice in Vancouver before devoting his efforts to healthcare education and information. He is the author of Dr. Art Hister's Guide To Living A Longer and Healthier Life, Midlife Man, Dr. Art Hister's Do-It-Yourself Guide to Health, and is a widely respected doctor and health columnist on radio, as the health columnist on Global TV News in Vancouver and contributing to a variety of publications.
Dr. Hister has served on the boards of many organizations including CKNW Orphans' Fund, The Vancouver Holocaust Centre and the C.H.I.L.D. Foundation, dedicated to children with bowel and liver disease. He graduated from McGill University in 1970.
